State Policy Officers Training (SPOT '24) **Required**
2024 State Policy Officers Training (SPOT)
AYA's annual State Policy Officers Training (SPOT) is a critical professional development opportunity for state-level policy officers and advocates working to advance youth-focused legislation and initiatives. In 2024, this dynamic training will be offered in a fully virtual format, making it accessible to a wider audience of participants from across the country. Over the course of two engaging half-day sessions, attendees will deepen their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and build their networks to become more effective champions for young people in the policy arena.
The virtual SPOT 2024 curriculum will cover a breadth of essential topics, from crafting impactful policy proposals to navigating legislative processes to leveraging data and storytelling for advocacy. Seasoned policy experts, seasoned legislative aides, and veteran youth advocates will lead interactive workshops and panel discussions, providing attendees with practical, real-world insights. Participants will also have ample opportunities to connect with their peers, share best practices, and strategize on collaborative initiatives that can be implemented within their respective states.
By equipping state policy officers with the knowledge, tools, and connections needed to drive youth-focused change, the virtual SPOT 2024 training represents a critical investment in the next generation of policy leaders. Attendees will leave the event empowered and inspired to translate the lessons learned into tangible impact within their home communities.
